In this video, I cover a variation of the back sweep from single leg x guard. Whilst it is a very common and high percentage sweep when you have BOTH pant grips, it can be a significantly challenging sweep to finish if you cannot grab the far leg. This variation allows you to achieve a similar type of sweep, without the need of securing the cuff grip on the far leg. From a guard retention perspective, this is one of those hybrid guards that cannot be immediately passed directly, but must have each aspect of the guard dismantled prior to being passed.
